Branford's Blackstone, CDR Team Up to Help Job Hunters
Most folks who visit Community Dining Room (CDR) need a meal, but what about those who might need a little help with their job hunt?
During two Tuesday sessions in October and two Thursday sessions in November, Branford's Blackstone Library librarians will bring their laptops and extensive experience to CDR, to help clients create or update a resume and cover letter, search and apply for jobs online, and explore other resources that could help land the job someone needs.
The on-site support service is a cooperative program created as a collaboration between non-profit CDR and the Blackstone Library, said CDR Executive Director Judy Bannon.
Sessions will be available at 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Tues. Oct. 11 and Tues. Oct. 25 and at the same times on Thurs. Nov. 10 and Thurs. Nov. 17. All sessions will be at CDR.
Anyone interested in receiving the assistance can sign up at CDR, 30 Harrison Ave. in Branord, and should arrive prepared for their session with a current email address and work history.
Committed to serving the community by feeding the hungry and helping with other basic human needs, CDR serves the south-central Connecticut shoreline from East Haven to Old Saybrook; including East Haven, Branford, North Branford, Guilford, Madison, Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook.
