Vista Authors to Share Memoirs in Madison
The community is invited to a memoir reading in Madison featuring members of Vista Life Innovations, a post-secondary education program for individual with disabilities, on Thursday, Sept. 15.
This free event is the culmination of a seven-week class led by professional writer Jocelyn Ruggiero in which Vista members wrote and published autobiographical memoirs about important people and events in their lives.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for members of the shoreline community to get to know the Vista members they see out and about in the community, or working in area businesses,” said Ruggiero. “By hearing their stories, we can all understand who these individuals are beyond and because of their disabilities.”
Ruggiero’s writing has appeared in The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, Food and Wine, Parade Magazine, Saveur, and Yankee Magazine.
The reading will be held at Vista’s Madison Campus, 107 Bradley Road, starting at 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
