08/31/2016 12:41 PMBranford police have released the identity of the 28 year-old Branford male victim, and are seeking assistance from the public, after a body was reported found at the-owned Tabor property land Thursday morning.
The case is being handled as an untimely death. Police issued the following press release Thursday afternoon:
Branford Police Detectives are working collectively with members of the Connecticut State Police, Central District Major Crime, New Haven State's Attorney's Office and Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to investigate the untimely death of Joseph Miller (DOB 6/4/1988), LKA of 25 Yowago Ave., Branford.
Police were notified at approximately 7:30 a.m., by an employee from the Department of Public Works, that he had discovered a body, lying on the side of the dirt roadway that connects the end of Ark Road to Pine Orchard Road. The parcel of land is owned by the Town of Branford, as is known as the "Tabor Property."
Detective Lieutenant John Finkle, who is leading the investigation, estimates that Miller's body has been at the side of the dirt road since last evening and said at this point his death appears to be suspicious in nature. Lieutenant Finkle continued, "Our investigators will work closely with the CSP and the other agencies involved to determine all of the facts and circumstances surrounding this untimely death and ultimately its cause."
