The first day of school for Clinton students is Tuesday, Aug. 30, and all schools will operate on a full-day schedule. There will be no school the following Monday, Sept. 5, in observance of Labor Day.

Clinton students will see two notable changes this year when they return to school. First is a new superintendent, following the retirement of Jack Cross at the end of the last school year. Superintendent of Schools Maryann O’Donnell began leading the district over the summer.

The other major—and very visible—change is the new Morgan School. High school students will be the first to start classes in the new facility on Aug. 30, though the entire community is invited to tour the new building at a Sunday, Aug. 28 ribbon cutting (see “Morgan School Ribbon Cutting, Open House Next Weekend” on page 18).

Bus Transportation

School Breakfast/Lunch

At Abraham Pierson Elementary School, breakfast ($1.75; $.30 reduced price) will be served starting on the first day of school. The first day’s breakfast will be bagel stuffer, fresh banana, apple juice, and choice of milk. Lunch ($2.75) will be whole grain cheese pizza served with fresh tossed salad and apple slices.

Breakfast starts on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at Lewin G. Joel School (same prices as Pierson) with a chocolate chip muffin, applesauce cup, cranberry juice, and choice of milk. Lunch begins Aug. 30 whole grain cheese pizza served with fresh tossed salad and apple slices.

Lunches ($3) at Jared Eliot Middle School on The Morgan School begin Aug. 31 with mozzarella sticks served with tomato sauce, fresh carrot sticks, whole wheat breadstick, and fresh grapes at the middle school and baked whole wheat French bread pizza, fresh tossed salad, ranch dressing, and fruit cocktail cup at Morgan.
