08/15/2016 11:32 AMIn July, jazz fans were thrilled to learn Opius Bliss featuring Michelle Walker would be coming to town after all, after a July 7 weather cancelation was rescheduled for Thursday, August 25. Now, Branford Jazz series stretches out to include Thursday, September 1, when The Saxtet, under the direction of Darren Litzie, will take the stage for the series' final show, following an August 11 weather cancellation.
Meanwhile, the weather forecast's looking good for this week's Thursday, August 18 free jazz show on the Branford green, featuring Tizer Quartet. Originally, Tizer Quartet was set to be this year's series closer and the show promises to deliver an exciting night, with music described by Branford Jazz Series as an "explosive mix of jazz, rock, classical, jam bland influences and Afro Cuban and world rhythms."
All Branford Jazz Series shows take place on the Branford town green at 6:30 p.m. and are free for the public to enjoy. The Branford Jazz Series Committee is an all-volunteer group working with the Town of Branford in conjunction with Branford Recreation Department and the Branford Festival.
