Route 22 Resurfacing Underway in North Branford
The state's Route 22 road resurfacing project scheduled to start today will last until August 30, with delays expected during the two week period as lane closures are necessary.
State Representative Vincent Candelora (R, District 86) has sent notification to residents informing of a Connecticut Dept. of Transportation announcement of a Route 22 road resurfacing set to begin Monday, August 15.
The project will cover 4.11 milles of Route 22, also known as Forest Road. Work is expected to be completed by Tuesday, August 30.
During the work period, lane closures will take place on the Northford side of Route 22 beginning at the junction with Route 17 (Middletown Avenue) and ending 2.5 miles past the junction of Route 22 with Route 80 (Foxon Road) near North Branford Town Hall.
The project hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with traffic control personnel and signs in place to guide vehicles. The project could extend beyond the August 30 end date if weather or other unforseen conditions or delays arise.
