With Post & Main Apartment Construction Underway, Pre-Leasing Begins in Old Saybrook
Wondering when the new apartment complex under construction on North Main Street will open? Wonder no more.
By July 15, the trailer at 7 North Main Street will become the new home office for Property Manager Sandra Vescera of U.S. Residential Properties, the management company chosen to lease and oversee the new apartments. With this shift, the new rental property to be known as Post & Main enters the pre-leasing phase.
Of the 186 units divided among eight buildings, 20 percent will be designated as affordable under state standards while the remaining 80 percent will be leased at market rates. As approved, the residential development will include a mix of one-bedroom/one bathroom and two-bedroom/two-bathroom apartment units.
Vescera said that the complex’s clubhouse and leasing center will be the first of the development’s buildings to be completed. The target date for the clubhouse’s opening is by the middle of August.
By the time the first residents move in, some of the complex’s planned outdoor recreation facilities will still be under construction. This includes an outdoor grilling area and dog run. A planned swimming pool’s opening will be delayed until the new rental complex enters its first summer season in May of 2017.
“Residents will be able to move in to the first apartment building in Oct. 2016,” said Vescera.
Pricing for Post & Main’s market-rate apartments will be between $1,600 and $1,900 per month.
“Our goal is to start setting up meetings with those on our waiting list within the next two weeks,” said Vescera.
Vescera said that the phones in the trailer will be turned on by July 15, so anyone interested in learning more about the new apartments or who wants to be added to the waiting list should call her at 860-388-8600 to set up an appointment. Vescera said that a new website for the rental development, postandmainapts.com, should also go live sometime next week.
