Food Truck Festival Coming to Guilford
While there may currently be some controversy over the taco truck on the Guilford Green, food trucks will soon be taking over the Guilford Fairgrounds. The Food Truck Affair is coming to town Friday to Sunday, June 17 to 19, bringing a variety of different trucks and activities for a three-day event to benefit the Guilford Agricultural Society.
Food Truck Affair Co-Owner Brian Harvard said he is aiming to have 25 to 30 different trucks at the event.
“We will have a great selection of food including barbecue, wood fired pizza, pierogies, hotdogs with gourmet toppings, gourmet wings, vegetarian options, wraps, steak sandwiches, cannoli, ice cream, and so much more,” he said. “We will also have craft beer from our favorite local brewery, Thimble Island Brewery.”
Beyond the food, Harvard said there will also be activities and other vendors at the festival.
“We’re going to have a midway with rides for kids and adults, donkey rides, archery tag, water wars, DJs, and live music from local bands,” he said.
The Food Truck Affair holds festivals across Connecticut, but Harvard said this event will specifically benefit the Guilford Agricultural Society.
“We love doing outdoor events that are fun for all ages,” he said. “The Guilford fair reached out to us to help them with fundraiser and we felt it would be a perfect fit for an event of this type. Since we’ve worked with them before with our Robin Hood festival, we felt we could do a good job for them to raise money for their organization.”
The festival will be held Friday, June 17 from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday, June 18 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 19 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free and parking is $5.
