May 12 Meeting for Westbrook Historic District
The proposed Westbrook Town Center Historic District is slated for consideration by the State Historic Preservation Board for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places on Wednesday, June 15. The nomination is being submitted by the State Historic Preservation Office on behalf of the Town of Westbrook as part of a federal Disaster Relief Assistance grant project focused on identifying vulnerable historic resources in coastal communities.
A public information meeting will be held on Thursday, May 12 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Westbrook Public Library. The proposed Town Center Historic District encompasses the following area: 966-1393 Boston Post Road, 43 Catherine Street, 9-45 Essex Road, 1004-1356 Old Clinton Road, 17-71 Magna Lane, 30 Norris Avenue, 44 Salt Island Road, 5 and 31-66 Seaside Avenue, 7-138 South Main Street, 32 and 40 Trolley Road, and 2-30 Westbrook Place. Notices of the meeting have been sent to all property owners within the proposed District.
