NB Voters Turning Out for Primary Voting Today
North Branford's two polling places had steady voting response this morning into the afternoon, according to moderators in place for the 2016 Presidential Preference Primaries.
District 1 at Jerome Harrison Elementary School, which has a total of about 2,200 of registered Democrats and Republicans eligible to vote today, had between 20 and 25 percent of its votes in by 1 p.m., said moderator Bryon Wentworth. The district has about an even amount of registered Republicans and Democrats, he said.
District 2 at Stanely T. Williams Community Center had steady turnout beginning in the morning and running into the afternoon, said Moderator Marlene Esposito. District 2 also has about an even amount of Republicans and Democrats registered (1009 Republicans and 940 Democrats). By 1 p.m. today, 238 Republicans had turned out to vote and 167 Democrats had come in to vote.
Polls close at 8 p.m.
