Chester Bank Heist Suspect Captured on Foot

State Police on Monday apprehended a 25 year-old Chester man with a large amount of stolen cash after the report of a bank robbery at the First Niagara Bank in Chester.

On March 7 at 10:07 a.m. State Police, Troop F received a 911 report of an active bank robbery taking place at the bank at 9 Water Street. Information was relayed to Troop F dispatch, which led to the description of the fleeing suspect being broadcast to responding state troopers. Several state troopers, both on-duty and off-duty, immediately responded to area. At approximately 10:18 a.m., troopers located a male matching the description of the fleeing suspect walking on Railroad Avenue in Chester. Upon further investigation, troopers positively identified this male as the suspect who had just committed the bank robbery.

Troopers then took the suspect into custody without further incident. The suspect was identified as Dylan J. Moore, 25, of 48 Railroad Avenue, Chester. Physical evidence was recovered and a large amount of stolen currency was recovered from the suspect at the time of his arrest. Detectives from the State Police Central District Major Crime Unit assisted in this investigation. There were no injuries or weapons used in this bank robbery.

Moore was charged with third degree robbery and larceny. He was held on a $200,000 bond for a court appearance in Middletown Superior Court on March 8.
