Discussions Impacting Pacileo's; Town Job Openings & More: News from NB
Town Manager Mike Paulhus shares a weekly report which updates citizens and town leaders on the latest goings-on in North Branford. The report shares upcoming Town Council and Planning and Zoning meetings where agenda items could tee up discussions which could impact a new business, Pacielo's Apizza; as well as updates on hiring for two town positions and news of the state's flood zone re-mapping, which could affect some residents and businesses.
In addition to ongoing efforts to hire a Purchasing Secretary (four candidates were interviewed Feb. 25), Paulhus announces Staff Accountant Barbara Felie will retire in May and the town is set to begin advertising to fill the position, with a closing date of March 11. The Town Council meets Tues. March 1, 7 p.m. in Town Council chambers with a revised agenda which now includes a review and discussion of a Regional Dispatch Center feasiblity study. The Council will also pick up unfinished busines relating to an easement request concerning town property abutting a new business, Pacileo's Apizza & Pasta Resturant, at 285 Foxon Road. Planning and Zoning meets Thurs. March 3, 7 p.m. in Town Council chambers, where one topic will be the continuing discussion on the Zoning Department's application to allow retail sales of beer and wine for on-site restaurant consumption (no bars) closer than 500 feet to schools and other sensitive areas.
