With the gap between America's political parties seemingly spanning Grand Canyon-proportions, many of us might like to know: how did the division start, and how did we get here?

On Feb. 7, the Branford Forum of the East Shore League of Women Voters invites area residents to free lecture, followed by audience participation discussion, "Political Polarization in the United States."

The talk will be presented by Professor Kevin Buterbaugh, chair of Southern Connecticut State University's Political Science Department. Prof. Buterbaugh will discuss the history of political polarization in the United States and its implications for the current Presidential election contest.

The public is invited to attend on Sun. Feb. 7 from 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Branford's Blackstone Memorial Library.
