Still Smoking in Essex

The fire that broke out yesterday afternoon at Calamari's Recycling, located at 20 Dump Road, Essex is still smoldering. According to Essex Fire Department Lieutenant Aron Schumacher most of the fire was “knocked down” last evening by around 11 p.m.  at that time the transition over to clean up and extinguishing hot spots began and is still ongoing now. He expects that there will be fire fighters on site into the night hours.

Along with the Essex Fire Department, multiple aid is still be used from the neighboring towns of Deep River, Chester and Old Saybrook.
