Dec. 19, 2015:  Branford Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect that was responsible for a convenience store robbery that occurred last evening (12/18/15), just after 10:00 PM, at Branford Mobil, 48 Leetes Island Road. (The store is adjacent to I-95 at Exit 56).

The suspect is described as a white male, 25 to 40 years old, approximately 6' tall, unshaven. He was wearing a brown winter jacket, blue jeans with a black ski mask partially covering his face. The suspect indicated that he had a hand gun in his waistband.

Police believe that the suspect walked to the Mobil station from the area of the Stop & Shop parking lot (22 Leetes Island Road) and fled in the same direction. Seen leaving the area was a Ford Ranger-style, white pick-up truck, with a ladder rack and ladder, which police believe is the suspect's vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Branford Police Department at (203) 481-4241 or contact the Branford Crime Tip Line at (203) 315-3909.

The incident remains under investigation.
