Atlantic Wharf Public Hearing Dec. 3
On Dec. 3, a public hearing will take place on Atlantic Wharf's site plan for a 205-unit residential/mixed use (commercial space) complex, located on former Atlantic Wire factory land in the town center.
The hearing will take place during the Planning and Zoning Commission (PZC) regular meeting, set for 7 p.m. at Canoe Brook Senior Center.
The master plan for Atlantic Wharf won unanimous backing PZC approval on Feb. 5, 2015; paving the way for a detailed site plan to be submitted for review. See the story here: http://www.zip06.com/article/20150205/NWS01/150209928/0/SEARCH
Atlantic Wharf will bring a complex of ten three-story buildings to the site at the corner of Meadow Street and Montowese Ave. The old factory on the land will be razed.
While the Atlantic Wharf site plan PZC public hearing officially opened on Nov. 5, no information was shared by applicant Metro Star (Milford) and no public comments were made; due to Metro Star's request for more time to review, "...a number of technical comments" on the plan, said PZC chairman Chuck Andres.
Public input was strong during the master plan public hearings last winter, with area residents voicing concerns about density, traffic and overall impact on local businesses and neighborhoods.
