WIS "Next Generation" Public Hearing Dec. 2
On Dec. 2, Superintendent of Schools Hamlet Hernandez invites community members to have their say on the next generation Walsh Intermediate School (WIS).
Built in the early 1970's following an "open classroom" concept, WIS is the town's public school for grades 5,6,7 and 8.
Following two "ideas and needs" sessions where public input was also invited, the Branford Board of Education (BOE) will hold a public hearing to gain additional input on the proposed changes to WIS.
Details from the first input session can be read here http://www.zip06.com/news/20151114/tennis-bubble-maker-spaces-and-more-boe-discusses-wis-x201cideas-and-needsx201d
On Dec. 2, the BOE will also review education specifications outlined for the next-generation WIS, as well as building options for the upgraded school. A full report of building option details, together with photos of each option plan, appears with this story: http://www.zip06.com/news/20150918/boe-reviews-wis-upgrade-options
The WIS Next Generation public hearing will take place Wed. Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. in the commons at WIS, 185 Damascus Road.
