11/10/2015 09:08 AMThe Branford High School (BHS) Choral Program has produced a 2-disc Holiday CD entitled "Joy to the World, Our December Prayer." This project is one of several efforts the Choir is undertaking to raise funds for its April 2016 trip to Austria and the Czech Republic.
In addition to the title tracks, this ambitious 37-song 2-disc set includes fun favorites such as "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town," a cappella renditions of classics such as "Ding Dong Merrily on High" and "The Christmas Song;" holiday standards such as "The Little Drummer Boy" and "Go Tell It on the Mountain," and, in celebration of the Choir's upcoming trip, carols in Austrian and Czech.
BHS Musical Director, Cathyann Roding, said of the project, " It was a complete joy to work with my students on this very ambitious project. The singers' voices are really exceptional and we worked really hard so we would not disappoint our fans in town! We want to make Branford proud! Special thanks go to the Branford Community Foundation for funding a portion of this project. It would not have been possible without their belief in us and their support."
