VRHS Participates in Spanish Exchange Program
The Valley Regional High School (VRHS) World Languages Department welcomed 10 students and two teachers from Salamanca, Spain from Sept. 12 to 18 as part of an exchange program that has been running for four years. Students participated in activities such as boating at the Pettipaug Yacht Club, bonfires, pizza parties, VRHS’s home football game, spending time with families, and more. Prior to arrival at Valley, the exchange students spent a weekend in New York City. While here, Spanish students participated and observed VRHS classes and especially enjoyed special classes like drawing and painting, woodworking, and technical drafting. The World Language Department will reciprocate by visiting to Salamanca, Spain in April 2016 with about 20 students, and will welcome the Spanish students back next year.
