Marching to Battle at Madison’s Bauer Farm

The normally peaceful and pastoral Bauer Farm Park was the setting last weekend for the Connecticut Civil War Commemoration Commission’s final encampment marking the 150th anniversary commemoration of the Civil War. The two-day event featured everything from cavalry and artillery demonstrations to a musket load and fire competition and re-enactments of the Battle of 1865 and the Appomattox march and surrender.
