Saybrook and Westbrook Earn CIRMA Dividends
OLD SAYBROOK/WESTBROOK - Westbrook First Selectman Noel Bishop and Old Saybrook First Selectman Carl Fortuna, Jr., each were pleased to receive checks this month from the Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Agency (CIRMA), a member-owned insurance organization, based on the group’s solid financial performance this past year.
As Bishop wrote in a press release announcing the check, “As a member-owned and governed organization, CIRMA works for the benefit of its members. This distribution is an extraordinary achievement made possible by the commitment and collaboration of member’s strong capital position and financial performance.”
Fortuna this month accepted a member distribution check in the amount of $21,749 for Old Saybrook from CIRMA while Bishop received one for $10,000 for the Town of Westbrook.
CIRMA is a member-owned organization providing insurance to its 374 municipal, school, and local public agency members. It was established in 1980 to provide to its members insurance coverage for property, auto, and liability risk and for workmen’s compensation risk through two distinct insurance pools.
