Madison Doctor Accused in New London Sex Assaults Commits Suicide
Dr. Glenn Giarrantana, who was charged with sexually assaulting two patients at a New London methadone clinic, killed himself over the weekend at his Madison home.
Giarrantana, 59, died July 18. The manner of death was ruled a suicide by the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
He was charged in October 2014 with groping a 26-year-old woman at the Hartford Dispensary, which is a methadone clinic in New London. A second woman, who was 31, came forward recently and New London police charged him with another count of fourth-degree sexual assault. The women said Giarrantana touched them in a sexual manner when they were left alone during physical examinations. He was free on bond while his cases were pending in New London Superior Court.
Madison police could not immediately be reached for comment.
