'Baby Bundles:' Free Books for Branford Families
Branford, Conn: Working with the Branford Early Childhood Collaborative, Read to Grow and Branford's local Exchange Club, the James Blackstone Memorial Library now offers free Baby Bundles for expectant parents or those that have a child up to 18 months. The organizations worked together to fill diaper bags with early literacy, safety and health information for babies and toddlers, as well as programs, events, and offerings that the town of Branford provides for families.
The main goal of the Baby Bundles is to promote early literacy, developmental, safety and nutritional information. The Bundles also contain a wealth of information about local groups that help support parents, such as: a listing of local daycares and preschools, information about birth to 3, playgroups, the Branford Healthy Smiles initiative and much, much more. The bundles are perfect for first time parents, and contain free board books, baby hats, and lead testing kits. Families picking up a Baby Bundle can also take advantage of the wide range of materials the Blackstone Library has to offer, creating a one-stop baby-information shop.
If you are expecting or have a child up to 18 months, please visit the James Blackstone Memorial Library Youth Services Department, where the bundles will be available for pickup, while supplies last. To learn more, or be part of the project please call Carly Lemire, Associate Librarian for Youth Services, at (203) 488-1441, ext. 323.
