Clinton Teen Found in Morocco
A Clinton teenager who boarded a plane to Morocco on July 6 to visit her Facebook friend has been found safe in Essaouira, Morocco.
Rebecca Arthur, 17, was dropped off at the Delta Airlines terminal at JFK International Airport where she boarded a flight to Casa Blanco, Morocco to visit her Facebook friend Sima El Adala. She arrived in Morocco on July 7.
Arthur was found early on Friday, July 10 by Moroccan police. She was at a vacation villa in the seaside community of Essaouira in the company of El Adala and his family. Arthur was able to speak with her mother briefly by telephone, and she is now being provided with consular services.
Efforts are currently underway with U.S. officials in Morocco to facilitate Arthur's safe return.
