MacLachlan Joins Community Cleanup at Chatfield Hollow State Park
State Representative Jesse MacLachlan, who serves on the legislature’s Environment Committee, joined a group of volunteers earlier this month at an invasive aquatic plant removal project at Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth.
At the start of this legislative session, MacLachlan adopted Chatfield Hollow State Park as part of a program to help raise awareness for the Connecticut State Park system. The invasive aquatic plant removal event of 2015 concluded MacLachlan’s commitment to adopting and promising to advocate for Connecticut’s state park system.
MacLachlan made a pledge to host an event at his adopted State Park and invite residents to join him for a day of recreational activity. Since taking this pledge, he managed to advocate on behalf of Connecticut’s state park system, but also volunteer his time.
MacLachlan, joined Cheryl Buckley (a certified advanced master gardener focusing on invasive aquatic species), Martina Jakober, Henry Graulty, Jack Swanberg, Vicky Thompson, Steve Kelly, Kim Kelly, Ashley Kelly, Emily DelGrago, Timothy Buckley, Holden Buckley, Spencer Buckley, and Matthew Pollak at Chatfield Hollow State Park to remove invasive aquatic plant life from the swimming area at the park.
