07/01/2015 11:30 AMEvery year, thanks to the Eunice Symonds Scholarship Fund, the Clinton Land Conservation Trust (CLCT) sponsors four Pierson students to attend Bushy Hill Nature Camp for two weeks during the summer.
Students are asked to write a persuasive essay about why they would be the perfect candidate to win the scholarship. Many of the students write about their love of nature and their desire to make the world a better place. Essays are read by the board of the land trust, and as a committee, a decision is made as to who the winners are. For many students, this is their first camp experience. This year’s winners are Jessica Flanagan, Alex Gallardo, Lily Harris, and Courtney Dombkowski.
