Family, faculty, and friends gathered June 19 on the Madison Green to cheer on the 315 members of the Daniel Hand High School Class of 2015 as they celebrated commencement.

While early summer weather made for a fairly steamy climate under the tent that sheltered the graduates, this was a group that had weathered worse. The students entered school on the heels of Tropical Storm Irene, followed in short order by Snowtober and the next year by Superstorm Sandy—and they may have encountered some snow this past winter, as well.

Despite the fluctuations in their schedules, the students of the Class of 2015 amassed a significant number of awards and accomplishments, academically and athletically, that were recognized at graduation. The celebration continued into the night with the traditional Nite in Hand event that transformed the high school into a theme of myth and legend.
