Connex Credit Union Supports Columbus House

Carl Casper, vice president of customer advocacy at Connex Credit Union (right), presents Sheree DiMario, volunteer coordinator at Columbus House, with a donation for $599.33. The funds were raised by Connex Credit Union’s “Coins-for-Change” fundraising program.

As a part of its community-giving program ConnexCares, Connex Credit Union recently donated $599.33 to Columbus House from the fees collected by Connex’s coin-cashing machine at the North Haven branch. Connex’s “Coins-for-Change” program charges a five percent fee to members and a seven percent fee to non-members, and donates the fees collected to charitable organizations in the local community.

Columbus House has been serving those experiencing homelessness as well as those at risk of becoming homeless since 1982. Those wishing to volunteer, make a contribution, or learn more should visit www.columbushouse.org.

Local non-profit or charitable organizations interested in participating in the “Coins-for-Change” program may contact Roquita Johnson at Connex Credit Union at 203-603-5787 or rjohnson@connexcu.org.
