Guilford Hosts Electric Car Day May 16
Guilford is already famous for its pick-your-own apples. Now it’s time to pick-your-own electric ride. On Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Guilford Energy Task Force hosts the Pick-Your-Own Electric Ride event in the Guilford Town Hall rear parking lot at 31 Park Street. Plug-in electric vehicles (EVs) from BMW, Chevy, Ford, Kia, Mercedes, Nissan, Smart, Tesla, Toyota, and VW will be on display.
“We are excited to be able to offer a clean energy source for Guilford’s residents and visitors, while working toward a more sustainable future for generations to come,” said Guilford First Selectman Joseph S. Mazza.
Guilford supports EVs through its new charging station behind Town Hall, and there is an additional, privately funded public charging station at Bishop’s Orchards by the Little Red Barn. The Town of Guilford charging station purchase and installation has been paid for by EnergizeCT and CT Clean Energy Communities Bright Idea Grants and stewarded throughout the grant and installation process by Energy Task Force member Fred Volker.
