• Jan Ferraro has been hired as director of education for Acelleron Medical Products based in Guilford, which predominately sells postnatal and pediatric medical equipment throughout the Northeast. In her new role, Ferraro will educate pregnant women about the Affordable Care Act and breast pumps.
• Cindy Vieira and Allie Linell are two of the newest agents at Sunset Creek Realty in Guilford.
• The Dudley Farm Foundation recently appointed Beth Payne as the museum’s first director. A familiar face at the farm, this native North Guilford resident has been volunteering for the museum since her return from West Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer. The Dudley Farm Museum is located at 2351 Durham Road, North Guilford and opened May 9.
• The Guilford Center for Children, Inc. has promoted Ashley Hillier to executive director for both its Early Childhood Education Center at 47 Stone House Lane, as well as the Before and After Care Program, onsite at AW Cox, Calvin Leete, and Guilford Lakes Elementary Schools, effective July 1, 2015. Jessica Catlin has been promoted to assistant executive director. Rose Ann Kelley, longtime Before and After Care Director, announced her retirement in January of this year after 29 years.
• Fletcher Cameron Design, previously located for 10 years in Guilford, recently debuted a new kitchen showroom in New Haven’s Ninth Square Historic District. Operated by designers Christine Ingraham and Gregory Spiggle, the facility is located at 91 Orange Street. For more info, visit www.fletchercameron.com.
• Christopher Norwood has joined the Pearce Real Estate as a residential sales associate, and will work from the Guilford office.
Awards, Grants, and Recognition
• Guilford resident Jules Gaughran-Etes with William Pitt-Sotheby’s International Realty has earned the nationally recognized short sales and foreclosure resource certification.
• The Guilford Foundation recently announced grant awards to four organizations serving Guilford. The grants ranged from $750 to $5,000 and support youth, affordable housing, and the arts. The largest grant went to Lifelinx, Inc., an addictions recovery support organization that helps people who are in or seeking recovery from substance use disorders. The Foundation gave $750 to Camp Hazen for financial assistance to Guilford campers who need help paying for overnight camp. The second grant went to Guilford Developmental Assets for Youth (DAY) and their efforts to turn Guilford purple for Project Purple. Finally, the Guilford Foundation provided $1,500 to Shoreline Arts Alliance to support expanded accessibility services for the 2015 presentation of Shakespeare on the Shoreline.
• Dorothy Engstrom, David Mayhew, and Sue Popplewell of Pearce Real Estate’s Guilford office are 2015 Five Star Award winners in a survey conducted by Five Star Professional and published in the March issue of Connecticut Magazine.
• Guilford resident Leslie Krumholz of GoodStreets is a CT Tech Council’s Women of Innovation Inductee.
