The Scranton Memorial Library recently won the Connecticut Library Association’s Outstanding Library Public Relations Award in the Electronic Media category for their new website. Designer Abi Cushman of Brown Bear Creative in New London worked closely with library staff to create the new website that was launched in May of 2014. The goal was to create a dynamic, eye-catching site that is easy for users to navigate and highlights electronic resources. To achieve this, they chose to use a bold color scheme and graphical elements rather than lists of text. The library was presented with the award at a special program held during the Connecticut Library Association Annual Conference.
