05/12/2015 01:30 PM“Unity in the Community” for HOPE, a fundraiser for Hunter Pageau of North Haven, a student in 3rd grade at Green Acres Elementary School, is on Sunday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rascals Gym, 1647 Whitney Avenue, Hamden. Pageau is a courageous nine-year-old boy who has SMARD, an extremely rare disease causing paralysis and ventilator/life support dependency, whose disease projects a life expectancy of two years old. He is one of only 12 people in the United States and 80 in the world with this disease, and he needs help, as there are no formal organizations in place due to the profound rarity of this disease. Proceeds help with Pageau’s extensive medical expenses, which are not fully covered by insurance.
All children aged 8 months to 8 years and their families are invited to come play at Rascals Gym. Tickets are $10, and redeemable through Friday, May 22 if you can’t make it that day. Onsite will be the Sugar Bakery truck, pizza by Est Est Est Pizza, gelato by Paesanos, and more.
Tickets are available at the event, and also for purchase in advance at Rascal’s Gym. For more information, call 203-288-6552 and visit www.facebook.com/HOPEfor HunterPageau.
