Retired Probate Judge Joel Helander was recently recognized for his 19 years of service in the judicial districts serving Guilford and Madison. A presentation was made in April by President-Judge Sydney Elkin (left) during the Probate Assembly's annual meeting at The Supreme Court in Hartford. The purpose of the Probate Assembly, which comprises the 54 judges who preside over the Probate Courts, is

to seek to improve the administration of justice and achieve uniform practice throughout the Probate Courts.
