Guilford Bank Robbed on Friday
The Guilford Police Department is investigating a bank robbery of the Guilford branch of Webster Bank located at 1069 Boston Post Road, Guilford.
The suspect entered the bank just before 4 p.m. on Friday, approached the first teller booth and demanded money. No weapon was displayed or indicated when the demands were made.
The suspect was described as a African American male 5'9" - 6' tall, wearing a dark “Champion” hooded sweat shirt, tan pants, and a knit cap pulled down over his face with eye hole cut in to form a mask. The suspect approached the bank from the east side and entered the bank by the front door. He left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash and ran west towards the rear of the building. No one was injured in the robbery and the crime took less than three minutes. No vehicle was seen leaving the scene.
The Connecticut Bankers Reward Association is offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
