Annual Holiday “Food For Fines” Drive More Important Than Ever
The Hagaman Memorial Library will begin its annual holiday Food for Fines food drive on Monday, December 1 through Wednesday, December 31, 2014. During this month, library patrons may return overdue library materials, and in lieu of monetary fines, they may bring in one non-perishable food item per overdue material. Items such as canned soups, pasta, tuna fish, peanut butter, canned vegetables, and other non perishable canned items are welcomed. Food items with expired dates will not be accepted.
All food items will be donated to the East Haven Food Pantry at Christ and Epiphany Church in honor of the holiday season. The library is hoping to collect many food items this year, as the need for food is increasing across many communities. For more information about Hagaman Library’s Food for Fines month, visit the library on 227 Main Street or call (203) 468-3890.
