09/29/2014 12:00 AMDURHAM (AP) - A West Haven woman accused of striking a person walking along Route 17 near the fairgrounds in Durham will appear in court Monday.
[naviga:h3]Police said 53-year-old Deborah Conradi was intoxicated at the time of the accident when she struck Julia Rorke of Guilford who was walking southbound on Route 17.[/naviga:h3]
Conradi then left the scene of the accident until other drivers were able to stop her about a mile and a half away.
Rorke was transported by ambulance to Middlesex Hospital and then flown by a Life Star Helicopter to Hartford Hospital for treatment.
Conradi is facing several charges including driving under the influence, assault and evading responsibility. She was held on a $25,000 bond and is to be arraigned in Middletown Superior Court on Monday.
