Woman Claims Mayor Exposed Himself to Her
An administrative assistant at East Haven Town Hall has filed a complaint against the mayor, alleging he exposed himself to her as part of a pattern of sexual harassment.
The complaint against Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr. was filed with the state Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities on July 14.
Maturo issued a statement Thursday calling the complaint salacious and full of false allegations. He described the administrative assistant as a disgruntled employee who was on the verge of being terminated.
The woman says the mayor continually made comments about her breasts and exposed himself to her in October 2013.
Her attorney, John Williams of East Haven, says the mayor was warned in front of witnesses by the town's police chief that some of his actions constituted sexual harassment.
