Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr. will be making a major announcement regarding the East Haven Police Department and the Chacon v. Town of E.H. federal civil rights lawsuit at 10am today in City Hall.

Background:  On October 26, 2010, Marcia Chacon, along with nine other individuals, filed a federal lawsuit against the Town of East Haven and twenty-one identified and unidentified defendants alleging various civil rights violations by East Haven Police Officers.   Almost a year later in December of 2011, the Department of Justice released a 23 page Civil Findings Letter, citing the Town for alleged civil rights violations.
