Rain in the forecast has led the Henry Whitfield Museum to cancel its Firelight Festival that was slated for Friday, Dec. 6

According to Museum Curator Michael McBride the forecast makes it impossible to hold the outdoor festival.  

"Due to the historic nature of the buildings and grounds we cannot have large quantities of water and mud racked in or ruts in our lawns from feet and car tires," McBride wrote in a statement to The Courier. 

There will be no rain date.
