11/05/2013 11:00 PMEnjoy a warm supper of spectacular soup, while supporting two great shoreline organizations.
On Sunday, Nov. 17, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Guilford Art Center (GAC) hosts "Soup for Good" to benefit Community Dining Room (CDR) and GAC.
On Nov. 17, all Soup for Good guests will gather at the GAC school to enjoy a bowl of hearty soup, bread, dessert, and a glass of wine or sparkling water. As an added ingredient to this special event, each guest will be able to select his or her own one-of-a-kind soup bowl, handcrafted by GAC potters, explained GAC Executive Director Maureen Belden.
Guest's bowls will then be washed and dried for each guest to take home, "for good," said Belden.
As another added benefit, guests can also head over to the GAC gallery, to take in the many unique and inspiring items on display for Artistry: American Craft for the Holidays. Officially opened on Nov. 1, Artistry is GAC's extraordinary annual sale of fine holiday arts and crafts, featuring one-of-a-kind, handmade crafts by 250 American artists in forms of ceramics, jewelry, fiber, ornaments, accessories, toys, specialty foods, and more.
Advance reservations for Soup for Good are encouraged; tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at door.
Guilford Art Center is a non-profit organization established to nurture and support excellence in the arts through education, communication, and outreach.
