In May, a new system was put in place at the Guilford Transfer Station, which is also used by the town of Madison. The new system only accepts debit/credit cards, local checks and pre-paid tickets at the station, no cash payments. As a direct result of this new procedure, there has been a reported increase, at the station, of over $30,000.
