Helping Kids "Choose to be Your Best" -- A Special Program for Parents

This is a panel discussion for parents facilitated by Daniel Hand High School student athletes, members of LIFE Choices, M.A.D.E.'s high school group, and the high school's peer mentors. The topic is helping students "Choose to be the Best."

When: Monday, Oct. 28, 6:30-8 p.m.

Where: Brown Middle School Auditorium

What: An interactive panel discussion from the teen perspective on how to talk to your children, what to expect as your children mature and ways to support them to make positive choices. Parents will be able to ask questions on such topics as communication, rules, technology, substance use and more.

Who: Daniel Hand High School athletes, LIFE Choices members and Peer Mentors will conduct the panel discussion, along with their adult leaders.

Come with your questions or just listen. Select DHHS students have partnered with Brown Middle School to lead a conversation about making positive choices for lifelong success with students and parents at Brown.

On Friday, Oct. 25, Brown students will meet with students from DHHS in groups to see a short video, discuss the importance of making positive choices, the impact personal choices have on our lives and those around us, and the differences these choices can make in both the short and long term.

The DHHS students will then present the same video and facilitate a panel discussion for parents on Monday, Oct. 28. Be part of a discussion to explore how parents can support their children to “Be Their Best” from a teen’s perspective!
