Guilford's New Mass Notification System
Guilford’s New Mass Notification System
By Karena Garrity
Guilford’s new Mass Notification system is now in place. Having residents most recent contact information is the only way to ensure the system can contact everyone in an emergency. To sign up, please visit the Town’s website at www.ci.guilford.ct.us and look for the Guilford Mass Notification link to the Everbridge system. Or visit the link directly at www.ci.guilford.ct.us/GMN.
The Town of Guilford wants to make sure its residents know about emergencies and incidents as they happen. It will be using the new system, via telephone, text and/or e-mail, to inform the town’s people about issues that may affect safety.
The system may also be used in a non‐emergency capacity in situations letting residents know about important town‐related events, road closures, crime watch alerts, or public works projects. The process begins when the town issues a message about a potential safety hazard
or concern. Guilford Mass Notification System dials residents main contact number or sends an e‐mail. If no confirmation of receipt of message is made, the system will try to reach that person’s next contact number or e‐mail. The system will continue trying until it receives a confirmation.
Make note that the Everbridge system will display on caller ID as 203‐453‐8199 Guilford Mass Notification and as a text 89361 /Everbridge.
