09/23/2013 12:00 AMAt the Board of Selectmen's Tuesday evening meeting, starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, the public is invited to come hear presentations on the proposed town capital projects: a new police station; several capital maintenance projects at the schools including a new middle school roof, replacement windows at Goodwin School, and a rebuilt track and tennis courts at the high school; and finally, a proposed installation of a new artificial turf field at the high school.
At 6 p.m. the same evening, the Board of Finance will vote in the same Town Hall Conference Room. This vote will be based on presentations the BOF heard last week from town officials and contractors on the various projects. Two bonding authorization questions, one for the police station and one for school projects, will be the subject of the Board's action. If both questions are approved by the BOF to send on to the Town, an October referendum appears likely.
