09/13/2013 12:00 AMDuring the past weekend hundreds of Madison residents donated more than 1,300 pounds of food and several hundred dollars to the Food Pantry operated by the all-volunteer Madison Community Servicess. When the students from Daniel Hand High School and Polson Middle School who helped with the collection arrived at the pantry with the food donations, they found empty shelves. It was a visual and shocking realization that there is a significant need.
The need is constant. To make a donation, the Food Pantry is on Orchard Park Road, Building 50, Units 3 and 4. Donations can be dropped off on Tuesdays, or can be dropped off in downtown Madison at the William Raveis Real Estate Office at 709 Boston Post Rd, Madison. The phone number at William Ravies isĀ (203) 421-4998.
