08/11/2013 12:00 AMMore than 100 members of the community gathered in vigil last night at Margaret Tucker Park to grieve and to show support for those lost in Friday’s plane crash, which claimed the lives of two young East Haven girls as well as the two aboard the plane.
Joann Mitchell, mother of victims Sade Brantley, 13, and Madisyn Mitchell, 1, was present at the vigil, as were many of her neighbors and the town’s emergency responders who made rescue attempts at the Charter Oak Avenue crash site.
Mayor Joseph Maturo told the crowd at the vigil that the show of support was a great tribute to a "caring" and "loving" town that "comes out when things are down."
