Body Found in Long Island Sound


On this date just before 9:30 a.m., The Clinton Police received a 911 call from a recreational boater in Long Island Sound reporting they had discovered what appeared to be a deceased victim floating in the water.

Clinton Police and Fire personnel responded to that location and determined that there was in fact a deceased body floating in the water, approximately one half mile south of the Clinton channel.

Police and Fire personnel secured the body and transported it to the Clinton Town Marina. The body was turned over to personnel from the office of the Chief States Medical Examiner’s office and was transported to Farmington for an autopsy and for identification purposes.

The body is believed to be that of a middle aged white male. The State of Connecticut ECON Police (DEEP) is the lead investigating law enforcement agency.
