06/21/2013 12:00 AMGuilford’s own Paul Marcarelli, creator of the “The Green,” a multi-award-winning indie movie filmed right here in town, invites film fans to a special June 30 screening event for his latest film, “Clutter.”
It’s the Connecticut premiere for “Clutter,” taking place on the closing night of the Connecticut Film Festival at Old Saybrook's Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center. Two years ago, many Guilford supporters were on hand when the same festival threw an amazing catered event for Marcarelli and company as they premiered “The Green” -- and took home the award for Best Feature Film.
“Clutter” is a Table Ten Films production, in association with Fulcrum Media Group. The June 30 event will include a Q&A with Marcarelli and the other filmmakers (including his business partner, CT native Molly Pearson) immediately following the screening, and a reception with passed hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine deliciously furnished by Some Things Fishy.
“Clutter” stars Carol Kane (who returns to Broadway July 1 to reprise her role as Madame Morrible in “Wicked”), Natasha Lyonne (star of Netflix “Orange is the New Black, streaming in July) Joshua Leonard and Kathy Najimy. Marcarelli wrote “Clutter,” which he co-produced with Pearson. Diane Crespo directs.
“Clutter” had its world premiere in June, during closing weekend of prestigious The New American Cinema Competition at Seattle International Film Festival, a distinction shared by just ten other films out of over 400 at the month-long festival, said Marcarelli. The Connecticut screening on June 30th also marks the film’s east coast premiere.
A description of “Clutter,” found at www.clutterthemovie.com, explains, “…when County Health Inspectors give the Bradfords one week to clean their dangerously horded family home, long-buried resentments, fears and grief begin to come to the surface, forcing the entire family to face what it is they value most in life.” Find a trailer and other movie details at the website or find ClutterMovie on Facebook.
Tickets to the June 30 “Clutter” film and after party, $30, can be purchased by calling (877) 503-1286; or by visiting
