Fans of shelter pets can meet U.S. Postage Stamp photographer Sally Andersen-Bruce this Sun. June 2, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Branford's Blackstone Library.

The event also includes wine and hors d'oeuvres and features music by Branford pianist Lori Fogler-Nicholson.

Andersen-Bruce will be giving a talk about her effort to enlighten the nation to the plight of the shelter pet, and the joys of adopting one, through her popular Shelter Pet U.S. Stamp series. The event will feature a photo exhibit of her work with shelter cats and kittens, dogs and puppies. To date, Andersen-Bruce's shelter pet stamps have sold over 15 billion stamps. They were also voted "readers choice: favorite stamp" in a poll of the American public.

Tickets, $25, can be purchased in advance at Branford Compassion Club and Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter during regular hours. All proceeds will  benefit these two local shelter organizations, which are co-hosting the affair.
