The Old Saybrook Police Department is investigating a suspicious fire and incident at 19 Beaver Dam Trail, Old Saybrook. After receiving a 911 call police responded to the house to find a woman screaming for help. Police discovered the fire and alerted the fire department.

Two residents, a male and a female, were transported to the hospital.

One police officer and one firefighter sustained injuries as a result of the fire and were also transported to the hospital. Both the officer and firefighter were treated and released.

This is a very active criminal and fire scene at this time. Local and state fire marshalls are assisting.
